Eat:kaizen - clean eating comes to Altrincham
Altrincham will soon be welcoming a new healthy eating restaurant and retail outlet, Eat: kaizen, to Stamford New Road. Eat:kaizen - which is Japanese for ‘continuous improvement’ - is a new venture for Rob, Dan & Emma who have already established the very successful super food brand – Kaizen Living www.kaizenliving.co.uk . The health emporium, which will be based in the former Yorkshire Bank on Stamford New Road, will be opening in the New Year with a mission to provide the highest quality products sourced from all over the world.
Rob, Dan & Emma are very excited about the potential for their business in Altrincham. The location is near several gyms, PT Studios & Altrincham Leisure Centre and Rob believes that there is a need for a food outlet for gym goers and others who are time poor but still want to eat healthily. Plans for the development of residential units in the town centre will also bring more local customers.

Eat:kaizen will be open from 8am until 8pm and will accommodate sixty-five diners with plans for a further fifteen seats outside. The core of the offering is the ‘build your own protein box’. Customers will be given a base of either quinoa, brown rice, sweet potato mash, courgette noodles or gluten free soba noodles to which they can add a protein from a wide range including chicken, prawns, steak or tofu. Protein boxes will be in kids’, regular and king-size. Breakfast will be served from 8am until 11am – full English is available but with an option of lean chicken sausage and turkey bacon.
But Eat:kaizen isn’t just about lean protein and building muscle mass. The menu is all about delicious but healthy food and will be family friendly with a children’s menu that includes milk shakes made from raw cacao and dates and sweet potato brownies. Regular favourites like Thai Green Curry will be available, as will vegan dishes.
The restaurant will offer a takeaway service and, from January, a prepared meals service will be available with three super healthy meals a day to be delivered twice a week to the customer’s home. A nutritionist will oversee the creation of the meals which can be tailored to help customers to achieve their fitness goals.
There will also be a retail section with all the ingredients for a healthy diet, clearly labelled with information about how to use the foods to enhance your fitness regime. ‘Grab and go’ salads, freshly prepared on the premises will be on sale too.
Rob and Dan are evangelical about health and fitness and the Eat:kaizen website, which will be coming shortly before the restaurant launch, will include a regular nutrition blog. So Altrincham asked for some top tips for a health boost. Rob and Dan suggested acai berries from Brazil which contain 20 times the number of anti-oxidants found in blueberries. Rob is also a great advocate of spirulina and chlorella – microalgae, sometimes called the ‘greens of the sea’ - which are the ultimate superfood.
Eat:kaizen will be bringing employment to Altrincham with ten full time employees and a number of part-time opportunities. Rob, Dan & Emma will also be recruiting two apprentice chefs. They will be looking for employees who are committed to a healthy life style and to reflect this free gym membership will come as part of the package for all staff.
Altrincham may be only the beginning for Eat:kaizen, as the team have exciting plans for this temple to healthy eating. They would like to open two new restaurants by the end of 2017 and have already been researching potential future sites.
