Life is too short to wear boring jewellery!

"Life is too short to wear boring jewellery!"  Jewellery designer, Dea Windross, loves -  and lives - this mantra!

Dea, originally from Croatia, now lives in Timperley. She spent much of her childhood in Switzerland and later travelled extensively whilst working in the fashion industry.  From making things as a little girl, to finishing an art degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, Dea has always loved the sense of fulfilment and freedom that being creative has given her.  Her ‘lightbulb’ moment came when she was between jobs and decided to launch a new business which would allow her to be creative and give her the flexibility to look after her young sons.

made by dea was established in Winter 2014 and Dea says that she has been on an epic journey ever since. Her artistic and travel experiences have led her to define a style that combines sleek contemporary elegance with vibrant colours and strong shapes. At first, she was making pieces that reflected her style but didn’t think much about where to sell them or who to sell them to but then a friend bought a yellow leather bracelet wrap and the rest is history!

The brand was established in 2014

Dea designs and handmakes her jewellery in her eco-friendly studio using ethically sourced European leather, stainless steel, bronze gold and vintage gold brass.  Her signature design is that same leather bracelet wrap which now comes in 12 colours and three different colour clasps. The wraps are created for both men and women and have been Dea’s most popular item since day one. She also has a range of stunning necklaces including our favourite – a necklace crafted from leather petals in a sophisticated mustard yellow ( see above).

Dea’s jewellery is completely unique and can be bought online here  and in various independent shops in the UK and in Japan. In February, she attended her first trade show, the Ambiente Northern Powerhouse Trade Show in Frankfurt. To her delight, her leather bracelets attracted a lot of interest from German buyers and distributors.

Dea and her jewellery can also be found on Altrincham market.
