Vintage Angel Design - the most beautiful shop in Altrincham?
Sparkling gift tags for that special touch
The shop has a selection of painted furniture but for creative types who want to do it themselves it also stocks the renowned Grand Illusions Vintage Chalk Paint. This water based paint is designed to replicate the milk-paints of the 18th and 19th century. Still made today with natural earth pigments and a very high chalk content (over 45%) it is easy to use. The colour range reflects an on-trend Nordic-French colour palette.
The shop is also a treat for the senses as it is fragranced by a Lampe Berger lamp. These beautiful lamps were designed in 1898 for hospital use by Maurice Berger, his background as a pharmacy dispenser helped him to address a need for more hygienic environments and reduced airborne contaminants. His ingenuity resulted in the original low-temperature burner, and this both practical and nostalgic design has changed little over the years. Unlike oil lamps or scented wax candles, Lampe Berger burns fragrance, meaning more subtle scents and none of the irritants that other burners contain. The shop stocks a wide range of these beautiful fragrances including the wonderfully 'christmassy' Orange and Cinnamon. The Lampe Berger burns fragrance rather than oil or wax
Vintage Angel also has an amazing selection of Christmas decorations. The sparkling Christmas Room downstairs has vintage bauble wreaths, twinkling lights, retro goose-feather Christmas trees and a range of fabulous Christmas baubles. The effect is magical.
The shop is a treasure trove of vintage Christmas decorations
Pamela Macauley, owner of Vintage Angel, said: "Quite a lot of my Christmas stock comes from North America, and won't be found anywhere else in the UK. I fill the shop with special decorations - beautiful-quality, traditional and classical - of which you buy perhaps a few each year to add to your collection. They're the sort of decorations that you look forward to getting out every year, and ultimately become family heirlooms. They also make beautiful gifts which will be remembered for many Christmases to come."
